Monday Morning Swim.....(edited)

Well lazy got up this morning for a nice swim. We did quite a bit this morning. Kind of well.... boring, but I guess it's yardage.

800 Yard Warm-Up. (150 free - 50 stroke)
200 Yard Kick
200 Yard Pull
50 Easy Free

(Ooooops.... Thanks JT... Overstating my workout)
3 x 300 Yard Sets
6 x 150 Yard Sets....

Like I said not too "exciting" but yardage none the less.

Not a bad morning - Tendinitis in my left elbow seems to have flared up and will be quite an interesting injury to work through since I can't just say well I'll spin up the running and let my arm heal, since I can't run yet..... GRrrrrrr

Yesterday's TNT Triathlon group swim practice was a nice day in the water but not the kind of yardage I need. We were trying to get a good view of our triathletes and see what we needed to fix on their strokes, to make them more efficient in the water. We have a VERY good base to work from with the group. I'm very excited about getting everyone in the water, They are going to be a very good group to work with through this whole process.

I hope you all are well and keeping warm in this lovely weather we have in Cleveland.

And Depression sets in……….

Friday February 2nd

And Depression sets in……….

Ok so I think I’ve been VERY up beat and positive about this whole F-ing leg injury thing….. but I’m done with this crap. So it’s been a year since I’ve been able to run due to stress fractures in my tibia's. I think I talked about this a while ago…… One fracture in my left leg and 5 or 6 in my right…… so definitely a stride and gate issue of some sort. I’ve been looking forward to getting back out on the roads and building up some mileage again and the enjoyment of loosing myself in the run…. BUT not happening. So back to the doctor today…. had some X-Rays and a visit with my favorite doctor….. Nothing like the sports medicine / Orthopedic Doctor… who has the pleasure of telling me that I haven’t healed yet… and there fore… still no running. IT’S BEEN A YEAR!!!!!! since we found the fractures…. this is REALLY getting to me. There has been mention of dropping a rod in my leg, and in 6 weeks I’m going back to see her yet again and HOPING to see some improvement… Twelve weeks ago to 6 weeks ago we had a really nice large amount of healing… from 6 weeks to today…. nothing. GRRRRRR so back to the 6 weeks from now appointment… if there’s no major healing my appointment will not only be with my doctor but the surgeon who does the surgery of dropping a rod. How fun will that be? actually having to think about surgery AND the possibility of having a rod in my leg for the rest of my life since it can’t seem to heal itself. very disappointed.

So back to what I can do….swim and bike. and well…. I’ve been spending more time in the gym than in the pool. the bike on the trainer is great, but I REALLY need to get my arse back in the pool and back in the pool on a daily basis. sounds easy no? Well I have a new job that has me traveling some as well, so I need to really start to use the USMS for what I can, and find a local pool where every I happen to go. Ugh… So much for excuses…. I need to go to the gym. Later kids.

Keep your heads up….. I’m tryin.
